Privacy Policy

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it. We try to collect as little as possible.

Last updated: July 12, 2026

Who we are

Nervous System Apps is a studio operated by Devgenie Studios(“Nervous System Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy applies to the website at nervoussystemapps.com and to our iOS applications and related services (together, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

The short version

  • We design for restraint. We collect the minimum we need to run the Services and improve the app.
  • Health and wellness inputs are treated as sensitive. We are built to keep them on your device, we never sell them, and we never use them for advertising.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising in our app.
  • In-app analytics is anonymous — counts of which features are used, never what you write or how you feel — and you can turn it off in the app at any time.
  • You can ask us to access or delete your information at any time by emailing sofia@devgeniestudios.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you join our mailing list or contact us, we collect your email address and the contents of any message you send. If the app offers an account, we collect the information needed to create and maintain it.

Health and wellness inputs

Our apps are designed to help with nervous system regulation, so you may enter or generate health- and wellness-related information, such as how you are feeling, breathing or grounding sessions, mood, and similar inputs. We treat this as sensitive information. Wherever possible it is processed on your device and stays there. It leaves your device only if you explicitly choose a feature that requires it (for example, syncing or contacting support), and even then it is never sold and never used for advertising or data mining.

Usage and diagnostic data

To keep the app stable and understand what to improve, we collect limited analytics and technical diagnostic information, such as app performance and error and crash logs. In the app, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage events: counts of which features are used and which screens are viewed (for example, that a breathing practice was started and completed, or that the onboarding flow was finished). These events are made up of fixed categories and coarse buckets only — they cannot carry anything you type.

Alongside these events, Firebase collects a pseudonymous app-instance identifier (a random ID created for your installation of the app, which resets if you reinstall), general device information (device model, operating system version, app version, and language), and an approximate location (country or region, estimated from your IP address; the IP address itself does not appear in our analytics reports). We never connect analytics to your name, email, or any other identity, and we do not collect advertising identifiers — the app has no ads and no ad tracking.

Analytics neverincludes: anything you write in the app (journal or note text, or even its length), your mood or nervous-system check-in values, affirmation text, any use of the crisis-support screen, health data, precise location, or audio and transcripts. You can turn analytics off entirely at any time from within the app (see “Your choices and rights” below).

Technical information collected automatically

When you visit our website or use the app, our infrastructure and tools may automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, and timestamps. This is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Services.

How we use information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
  • To send you occasional product updates if you asked us to, and to respond when you contact us.
  • To diagnose problems, fix bugs, improve stability, and develop new features.
  • To keep the Services secure and prevent abuse or fraud.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the limited circumstances described below and only with parties that are required to protect it and use it solely for the services they provide to us.

  • Service providers. We may share limited information with vendors that host our infrastructure, deliver email, provide analytics or crash reporting, or otherwise support the operation of the app. These providers act on our instructions and may use the information only to perform services for us. Our analytics provider is Google (Google Analytics for Firebase), which processes the anonymous usage data described above on our behalf.
  • Apple and purchase-service providers. When you download the app or make an in-app purchase, Apple processes the transaction under Apple's privacy policy. Apple may provide us and our subscription-management provider, RevenueCat, with limited purchase and subscription information, including the product purchased, transaction status, renewal status, expiration, cancellation, and refund information. We do not receive your payment-card details, and we do not provide payment-card details to RevenueCat.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law or legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users, the public, or our services.
  • Business transfers. We may transfer information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction. Any recipient will be required to handle the information in accordance with this policy or provide notice of any material changes.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described here, or as required by law. We keep mailing-list emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Diagnostic data is retained for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated. Anonymous in-app analytics data (Google Analytics for Firebase) is retained for 14 months and then automatically deleted. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. These include rights under the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

  • Access or delete. Email sofia@devgeniestudios.com and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
  • Mailing list. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or ask us to remove you.
  • Analytics. You can turn off in-app analytics at any time with the “Share Anonymous Usage Data” setting in the app's profile screen. When it is off, no analytics data is collected — including the automatic events described above — and your choice persists until you change it.
  • On-device data. You can delete information stored on your device by deleting it within the app or removing the app.
  • Device permissions. You can change or revoke permissions (such as notifications) in your device settings at any time.

Note that in-app analytics data is anonymous — it is keyed only to a random app-instance identifier and never linked to your name, email, or any other identity. Because we cannot tell whose analytics data is whose, we are unable to locate or delete a specific person's analytics records in response to a request. You can stop analytics collection entirely with the in-app setting described above, and all analytics data is automatically deleted after 14 months.

Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International users

We operate from the United States. If you use the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries that may have data protection laws different from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
